Julia has an incredible ability to see things from all angles. She is inspired by researching and learning new things which makes her invaluable to a team tasked with content creation. I have collaborated with her often and she was always able to transform an idea into substantive, interesting stories. She is reserved and quiet at first in a group setting, but you are going to want to ask her what she is thinking—she will not disappoint! In addition, her attention to detail is unmatched by anyone I have worked with before. She is an intelligent woman with a natural-born ability to teach and my advice to potential employers or hiring professionals is you should not let this one pass you by.

Ms. Cechvala is a thoughtful, deliberate individual with good writing and analytical skills. She completed a master's degree here at the University of Wisconsin-Madison through a combination of writing and analytical courses, and I think she did a marvelous job of combining these various skills into a toolbox that will serve her well on the job market.

I work with a tight editorial team through all stages of monthly magazine production, from developing story concepts, to writing and assigning stories, to copyediting and proofreading. I have written several in depth features involving extensive interviews. I help with headline writing, illustration concepting, and preparing content to go online. I also interview, hire, supervise and mentor up to two interns at a time as they research and write stories. We help students become better writers by working with them on all parts of the writing process from brainstorming to reorganizing to fixing grammar errors. As the regional coordinator for the South campus I promote the Writing Center via brochures and class presentations. I collaborate with all staff and faculty to best meet the writing needs of our students. As part of the science collective for the "Perpetual Notion Machine," I produced a half-hour show with a live interview, performed a second on-air interview, prepared and read a four minute summary of science news, and hosted the show. With the Spanish-language local news shcw, "En Nuestro Patio," I prepared and read brief health segments, read on-air announcements, and helped set up interviews.
