During my time at MyWallSt, I was promoted from Senior Backend Engineer to Engineering Manager. This was a significant step in my career, as it brought with it a wide range of new responsibilities and challenges.Responsibilities included leading a team of software engineers ensuring that the team was working on the right projects and delivering high-quality software on time. This required me to take a strategic view of the team's work and to ensure that the team was aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.My daily responsibilities included running the team stand ups, fortnightly retros, overseeing the progression of team member development as well as managing my own ongoing engineering work. I also worked closely with other teams, such as product managers, designers, and QA, to ensure that the software was aligned with the company's overall strategy and goals.A key responsibility included ensuring that the team was adhering to project deadlines. This required me to have a deep understanding of the team's work and to be able to identify and resolve any issues that arose.Another important responsibility was hiring new staff, as well as building a fully remote team of multi-national engineers.
