I am working in a small team developing a 2U CubeSat whose main mission is to use low cost, readily available parts, such as the main board from a smartphone, as the core computing, sensor, and control aspects of the mission. The secondary mission involves an end-of-life stage to deorbit the instrument as to not create space trash in low earth orbit once the mission is over.As an ADCS engineer, I research and develop low cost solutions utilizing reaction wheels and magnetorquers to control the satellite, as well as finding ways to determine the attitude to correct while in orbit. The current design involves 2 axis control using 2 custom wound magnetorquers to point the transceiver within its generous pointing budget. Permalloy core and a custom CNC winding device will be used to improve the quality and robustness of the control device.

Debugged and documented various issues on complex PCBAs involving serial buses, voltage regulators, and high frequency analog signals. I reworked feasible fixes to these issues. Designed and simulated an ESD protection circuit for high speed data lines to meet high testing standards while layout space constrained. Aggregated documentation on dozens of PCBAs for an organized and useful package sent to the client to assist in their ramp up. Created an initial hardware fault tree and isolated fault detection lines on a large aerospace project for facilitating a future FMEA/FDIR effort. Managed priority, review, lead times, and qualification of Altium components for PCBAs leading up to a critical project review deadline.
