Bio
GRAHAM BRUCE WALLACE
I have known Jason Beaman for eight years and have nothing but positive things to say. Jason and I initially worked together as part of the executive team at Tartan Canada Inc. (TIC) As Director of HR, Jason coordinated labor relations, personnel development, recruiting and organization restructuring. During my tenure as VP Operations, Jason was instrumental in organizing personnel transition and hiring for several large industrial maintenance contracts. After leaving TIC, Jason worked with me as a consultant on corporate restructuring assignments. There is no doubt in my mind that Jason will be an excellent addition to any business that recognizes the importance of HR to their operation. Jason has an infectious positive attitude that excites people to work with him and do the right thing…when nobody is looking. A consummately professional HR executive, Jason has a huge network and following that will directly or indirectly enhance any company. His written and speaking skills will ensure that your company is seen as a business that truly values its people and its clients.

I have known Jason since 2002 when I was new to the oil and gas industry and found work on a large site North of Fort McMurray, at a time when everything was done on site by the project aka I was thrown in the deep end! My success on that project and in the ones to follow was largely due to the support, guidance and experience Jason provided and shared. Through the years he and I have worked together at different companies, he has been my co-worker, direct supervisor, functional manager and always, above all else, a mentor. It has been a great experience to learn from someone who knows how and when to push for more. Jason has brought the best out in me and I have seen his positive influence on many others.

I directed a team of 13 staff overseeing the HR, Labour Relations, Payroll, Facility Operations, WCB and Safety Metrics across the organization. • Developed and implemented a $1 million cost cutting measure through a restructuring plan and salary roll back across all staff, management and executives while maintaining a culture of integrity and honesty • Achieved a 50% cost reduction in the Calgary Corporate office lease through strategic negotiations of a multiyear sublease that achieved a more productive space and cost certainty for 7 years • Achieved a direct cost savings of $90,000 and indirect savings of over $100,000 on a 5 week plant shutdown by designing and implementing a recruitment and onboarding plan that ensured the right number of employees arrived on site, at the right time and ready to work • Assisted in preparing and taking Tartan to a sale position in 2018 by working with the Board of Directors, the 3rd party marketing company and our Executive to present Tartan as an attractive organization. At the end of the process I worked to ensure all the questions of the purchasing company were provided a timely and accurate response related to the people functions within Tartan. Show less
