I oversee, direct and mentor electrical contractor teams whom are responsible for the engineering design, material ordering, quality of design and technical support during construction. I perform quality assurance reviews of the contractor’s deliverables prior to client design review. -As an application engineer I development and submit documents for full engineering, procurement and construction estimates which are sent to the client per the bid process. Projects have ranged from indoor/outdoor SCADA upgrades to 69kv Switch and motor operator. Document development typically include scope of work, bill of material, construction and testing sequence/duration as well as the overall cost proposal. Understanding industry standards and client standards and requirements while utilizing soft skills are necessary in proposal generation to provide the client at both corporate and local level the biggest bang for the buck. Understanding of the clients’ needs during the scoping phase is essential in reducing engineering re-work during the design phase, construction duration, material ordering errors which translates to customer satisfaction and increase profits. -As the project engineer I work with my team of electrical designers and multidiscipline engineers to execute the client approved scope. Use of 6 sigma quality control metrics and software provide a less than 1 error per drawing are utilized to achieve a 95% or higher customer review score. I provide engineering support during construction for various challenges that typically occur on brown field projects. I work closely with the project control analyst and project manager in keeping numerous projects on schedule and under-budget while assisting in resource balancing. Various programs are utilized e.g. P6. Show less
