In his role as Project Manager/EQA for EGLE, Mr. Poll primarily handles site regulated under Michigan's Part 201 environmental law in Kent, Ottawa, and Muskegon Counties. That includes sites contaminated by metals, solvents, petroleum products, Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), and other chemicals of concern. This work involves substantial report reviews, stakeholder and public meetings, negotiations, and cooperation with Compliance and Enforcement Section staff. Mr. Poll also manages and directs state-funded investigations, remediation projects, and exposure mitigation systems. Mr. Poll's goal in this position is to see the safe and successful ongoing use or redevelopment of property for beneficial use by both commercial and industrial users and residential users who are in need of affordable housing near their place of work.Building on his emergency response and preparedness background, Mr. Poll also performs in an emergency spill response role with EGLE; providing real-time guidance and follow-up to people and businesses who call EGLE with environmental concerns and responding to calls that are reported on the Pollution Emergency Alerting System (PEAS). Mr. Poll is trained in the Incident Command System and the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER).

Performed soil & groundwater (GW) sampling for the investigation and monitoring of impacted (hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and metals) sites. Supervised well installation (direct-push & hollow-stem auger). Oversaw the design, implementation, and operation of an ozone remediation system to chemically oxidize gasoline contamination.
