Initially, I was tasked with revising and updating a GIS database and map to clearly show all assets legally owned by former Moyle District Council, their value and any possible land issues associated with the asset. To do this, I had to locate and georeference all legal documents showing land which the Council owned, sold or leased to create a clear image of Council owned and maintained assets. Although my primary project was asset mapping, I was also involved in creating the maps for the new council website which was launched in November 2015, creating maps for an ‘app’ called ‘Find my Nearest’ and story maps for promotion of council and local events. I also helped to create an app for Emergency Planning which is now being used by the Northern Emergency Preparedness Group. This group is made up of members of the Emergency Services, Council Executives and Health and Social Care Trust Representatives. Show less

Mar 2012 - Sep 2013
This role required me to be one of the principal points of contact/sources of information for the public with respect to the beach and dune land at Benone, as well as advising on the adherence to Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council's Bye-laws for Seashores, Esplanades and Promenades. I encouraged the public and franchisees to use the beach in a sensitive manner and to be courteous to other users, logging any complaints from the public and giving advice or requesting appropriate behaviour from individuals who were causing a hazard to other beach users. This was monitored by general patrols of the beach on foot each day. Show less
