I was able to observe Jayne when she worked with me in her role as Assistant Principal/IBPYP Coordinator from 2012-2014. During that time she proved to be a person that I could rely on in many different fronts. Jayne is a highly experienced PYP practitioner who could confidently guide our teachers through the inquiry teaching process that we value so much at our school. Because of her competence, teachers respected her as well as her insights into their teaching practices. She was able to analyze the planners with the teachers to make them more conceptual in nature. This was an area she began addressing just before the IB Cross Program Evaluation that took place in 2013. Jayne presented to staff before the visit setting them at ease as there was some nervousness experienced by some teachers. Jayne’s timely presentation was just one example of her leadership skills. Jayne is also a skilled manager. She is creative in her approach to problem solving when faced with the day-to-day experiences that bubble up in any school. More importantly, Jayne was proactive putting in measures to avoid problems before they had the opportunity to occur. One remit that the AP/IBPYP Coordinator is to appraise staff. Jayne was eager to visit classrooms and offer immediate and meaningful feedback to the teachers she appraised. She was quick to point out the good teaching practice that she observed, but also was sure to provide insights as to where she believed the areas the teacher could work for improvement. Jayne’s decision making was guided by her passion for doing the best for the students. This was how she conducted herself when she was a classroom teacher which she then carried over in her administrative role. She consistently

Jayne is a dynamic educator with very acute emotional intelligence. Jayne is a superb communicator; articulate and sensitive. She is very knowledgeable in terms of IB PYP curriculum and has vast workshop experience. My own interactions with Jayne, as a WSL were very positive. She showed dedication, creativity and endless energy; I loved working with her. Jayne's expertise is wide-ranging however, her particular interest in early childhood education should be noted.
