I trained and supervised Jaymie at the Texas Learning & Computation Center from July 2008 to September 2009. She proved herself to be invaluable to our front office, with her maturity, good nature and sense of job ownership, she transformed out filing system from a mess into a useful and well organized system. Jaymie was also very popular with the center's faculty and research staff, and was always willing to offer help and seek out other duties to do when her work for the day was done ahead of schedule. Jaymie also took on the challenge of training our incoming work studies, and also assisted with comprising a desk manual for the position. Due to Jaymie's hard work, efficiency and team spirit, the office ran much more smoothly during her tenure. I recommend Jaymie without any reservations.

Jaymie has a keen efficiency in research and organization of lab resources. She is responsible, hard-working, and supremely competent at getting things done.

I am a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Pasadena ISD. I have the most experience in elementary and high school. In elementary I oversaw all special education students on the campus. Currently at high school, I focus on students with behaviorally based conditions, such as Autism, Emotional Disturbance, ADHD and those with BIPs. I have experience with many special education programs and strive toward every student's Least Restrictive Environment. I conduct Full Individual Evaluations (FIEs), counseling evaluations, In-Home Evaluations, and Multimodal Functional Behavior Assessments (MFBAs) for each of our special education students. I facilitate IEP/ARD meetings and help coordinate services between other care providers (OT, PT, Speech, etc.). At high school, I help students develop their self-advocacy skills by encouraging their involvement in ARDs and building a safe space to learn about themselves and education. provide direct services such as counseling as a related service, social skills instruction, and psychological services. I consult with teachers and staff for academic and behavioral concerns to implement intervention plans. I also provide trainings to general education teachers and offer expertise for Response to Intervention. I like incorporating technology in my counseling lessons, which helps engage the students and structure our sessions. High school students have particularly responded well to my lessons on mindfulness and the mind-body connection. Show less

I gained practicum experience in the UHCL Psychological Services Clinic as well as school-based practice in Houston ISD. In the clinical setting, I conducted thorough evaluations as part of a team. In HISD, I worked under a psychologist to complete re-evaluations, provide counseling services, and shadow her services. I also conducted several consultation services with teachers and implement interventions with high fidelity. I assisted in a research project studying math interventions with elementary aged children. I contributed toward the writing of the manuscript. I was an instructional assistant for the Intellectual Assessment class. I graded protocols, observed and graded students during IQ test administrations. This provided me opportunity to further enhance my familiarity with cognitive tests, particularly my skill with the WISC-IV and WJ-COG-III.
