      Ape Industries is a company that deigns and manufactures, mountain bike straps to hold a mountain bikers gear to their bike frame. Formed under the Young Enterprise organisation in 2018 with four year 12 students at the of 2018 Ape Industries other members were no longer interested in running the business. This lead to in the 2019 year running Ape Industries on my own, this allowed me to gain many more skills than the previous years. Because Ape Industries sells through its own website I learnt many skills relating to marketing products online and growing and Instagram audiences. Show less

      I participated in Young Enterprise for two consecutive years, during this time I gained the regional coordinator's award for the Top of The South. Young Enterprise (YES) is a program that year 12 and 13 students Participate in where they create and run their own businesses. I ran a business called Ape Industries which manufactured mountain biking accessories. These products were sold through our website to New Zealand and international customers. The Young Enterprise program teaches many valuable business skills and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this program and the experience I got from this. Show less

      I was lucky enough to have been selected to be a part of Entrepreneurs In Action 2019 (EIA). I applied along with 4000 other young enterprise students and was picked for being one of the top 80 young entrepreneurs in the country. For this, we flew to Wellington to compete in different challenges in randomly assigned groups. The main challenge was to create a company that could send an alert to an entire companies employees. This challenge was completed in 24 hours, which allowed me to gain skills in working and communication under pressure. Show less
