As an intern, I was rotated to many different areas in four weeks I was there for. Most of my time was spent in Tissue Culture where I learned the importance of sterility and how media prep is a backbone of the centre. I was involved in practical work such as performing a PCR reaction, extracting the DNA from bacteria etc. These four weeks in the lab increased my knowledge and aided me to develop some lifelong and transferable skills. As part of unique school's project, I got the opportunity to work with the Edinburgh International Festival and the artist's 'Boy Blue Entertainment' with one if their shows, Project R.E.B.E.L. I worked in front of house within a small team to welcome guests, collect tickets and show them to the venue. This opportunity allowed me to further develop my communication and teamwork skills through working with the wider community. As an intern in RBS, I assisted at the branch alongside shadowing senior Personal Bankers and a mortgage advisor. I worked as a part of a small team ensuring we gave the best customer service possible. Those 4 weeks as an intern helped me to develop my time management, team working, IT amd communication skills.
