I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Jay while working together at Microsoft for the past 2 years. He was an awesome co-worker and mentor to me. He was always willing to take the time to help me out with difficult, in-depth technical questions. His knowledge and positive attitude were always welcomed during stressful situations. He also encouraged me to participate in an internal program at Microsoft to help me grow my skillset on the M365 security stack. His dedication to helping others grow will truly missed, and I know he will excel in his next role, and opportunity.

I had the pleasure of working with Jay for the past year at Microsoft and have nothing but positives things to say. While working with Jay I saw him quickly adapt to the changing landscape and step outside his comfort zone and take the initiative to learn the entire Microsoft 365 security stack. Jay didn't stop there and took that knowledge to become a lead on the team and help others grow their skillsets as well. I will truly miss working with Jay and wish him nothing but the best in the future!!

Senior Cloud Solution Architect - Engineering
-
Mar 2018 - Aug 2023
At present my duties as a CSA - Engineering are not much different than my role as a Senior Premier Field Engineer. I'm still spending a portion of my time advising/consulting major accounts with Active Directory On Premises. I also began assisting customers with Azure and invested time into building my M365 skills.

Premier Field Engineer - Microsoft Certified Master Directory Services
-
May 2015 - Jul 2023
Provide proactive and some reactive support to Microsoft's Fortune 100 and other Enterprise customers. It is my duty to work alongside our customers and help advise them in the technologies that I specialize in. I provide best practices information and help answer any questions they may have. I often assist with major architecture related projects for very large customers. As a Microsoft Certified Master in Active Directory I would say the majority of my work is centered around AD, but as a Platforms DSE/PFE I can be asked to support any technology built into the Windows OS.Additionally as new technologies are looming on the horizon I help provide what information I can to help them prepare as well as helping them plan and integrate new technologies into their environments.I also provide training as needed in areas that I am qualified to instruct to help build customer skillsets in those technologies. In the event expertise or services are needed in an area that I do not specialize in, I assist in locating appropriate resources/information to ensure their needs are met.I am dedicated to a small number of customers but occasionally spend time doing Active Directory risk assessments for Microsoft customers all over the country. Sep 2013 - May 2015
Served as a senior Active Directory consultant for Dell Services. I was a domain admin for two internal Dell domains as well as a very large external customer that we provide network administration support for.I worked on the decommissioning of an internal domain with over 28,000 users and assisted system administrators with migrating their applications to another domain.I also built a new internal domain to be used by Dell Services.Due to my level of expertise with Active Directory, I was asked to assist with misc. issues across multiple Dell accounts. I served as an escalation point for deep Microsoft oriented technical issues.I was the team lead for the team that I am assigned to. I worked closely with members of the team and tracked all projects that are on-going in our business. As the lead I also worked to provide training opportunities for the team where needed and possible. Show less

Project Manager
-
2001 - 2006
In 2001, Ingenium won the contract that I initially worked on. While in this position I managed a small 100 person org until 2003. In 2003, Ingenium won the Tinker AFB base network contract where I became a server administrator and the project manager for the large IT contract. While working in this new role I was a Network Administrator for the approx 25k user environment. I worked with AD, Exchange, Citrix, and a host of additional technologies during this time. Assisting with the base's migration to Active Directory and migrating the Cirrix farm to a newer version as two examples of projects I was involved in. I was also the project manager of the approximately 20 million dollar contract and manager for approximately 65 employees. Show less

Project Manager/Network Admin
-
Apr 2000 - Mar 2001
This was my first employer on Tinker AFB. I was initially hired as the senior helpdesk but was quickly promoted to the Network Administrator and Project Manger three months later with the existing PM left. While in this role I managed several employees as well as a mixture of Windows NT 4 and 2000 servers. I migrated their NT 4 domain to Active Directory and managed all IT purchases both client and server related. This was my first employer on Tinker AFB.
