Before commencing this placement, I was fairly apprehensive as to what to expect due to the fact I had very little knowledge about the insurance industry. However, as I progressed I comprehended the necessary skills required to be successful in this particular business and these included high levels of people skills to deal with issues, organisation to separate claims for example and the ability to make a sale. Furthermore, my ability and confidence when using Excel and other necessary interactive programmes were thoroughly enhanced which will hopefully prove very beneficial in the future as (along with the other skills learnt) are compatible with other industries. I am employed as a part time basis as an tennis assistant at the clubs above. This involves teaching children aged 5-7 the basics of tennis which includes ensuring that the racket is held correctly (as an incorrect grip will deter your progress and game), and how to play ground strokes. My patience, communication skills and sense of responsibility are paramount because I am dealing with such young children but I enjoy dealing with them and sharing their delight as they progress.
