Fred Luck
Fred Luck. Technical, Health and Safety and Quality Control Manager. I have known jay since the beginning of May, of this year, where I taught the last year of the H/N/D Construction and the Built Environment. I taught several module of this course, and Jay, together with three other students, were under my tutelage. When I started teaching, unfortunately the student were thirteen weeks behind, so I, together with jay, and the other students, had to undertake a very radical approach, to enable the modules to be taught and handed in on time. This worked extremely well, with Jay being at the fore front of this approach, as he had the mindset, as well as the perspicacity to absorb all the information needed, and displayed great lateral thinking, which was used during our tutorials every other week. I have always found Jay to be very intelligent, very willing to share ideals, as well as taking the students and myself, down routes of analysis and research, which would have not been possible under the restraints we were working under. As Jay has an allotment, we used his ideas, within a practical aspect, and the other students methods, and applied them within this setting, to a very great success. Jay is very erudite, and can come up with ideas and precepts, seemingly out of left field, that really work in a Construction Environment. When Jay completed his last year of the H/N/D course, his marks never wavered form High distinctions, for all eight of his modules. His work was also externally verified by the Btec Auditor, and he concurred with my marks of High Distinction. His work was also looked at by two senior Programme leaders from Northumbria University, and were very impressed with the standard, as well as the professionalism of his Portfolio. To whomever this recommendation is for, Jay will always excel at what he does best, studying, research and exploration. Congratulations Jay. Yours, with Kindest Regards. Fred Luck

I moved back to my old job to allow myself more time to gain a higher grade on my H.N.D in construction and the built environment. Because of this I received a distinction for my H.N.D and because of this I went directly onto the second year of the architectural technology degree at Northumbria University.
