Due to the longevity of my employment at CRS, I have held almost all positions of the business. I quote, install and service the systems which we provide. I thoroughly enjoy service, but was given the opportunity to take on the installation of a new fire alarm system in a multi-million dollar building currently under construction. This project is furthering my knowledge of the fire alarm, life safety industry. I am installing my first aspirating smoke detection system with smoke control. Installed and serviced fire alarm, access control, security and CCTV systems. I achieved NICET level II, Jade certifications, 10 hour OSHA and EST-3 recertification. I also enjoyed my first experience with access control speed lanes during the remodel. I was given the opportunity to manage and install the systems at the John Deere private hanger located at the Quad City International airport. This is where I learned what and how a foam suppression system works. At our final inspection I witnessed $50,000 of foam fall in less than three minutes and achieve a height of 6 feet in the five airplane hanger. That was impressive. My van was equipped with a GPS system which was monitored frequently. I tracked my daily time knowing my vehicle was equipped with GPS. They accused me of errors on my time sheets, and terminated my employment. Show less Installed and serviced fire alarm, access control, security and CCTV systems. Install and service systems for the newly developed security division. The recession and lack of work ultimately led to the end of my employment. Install and service systems for the newly developed security division. The recession and lack of work ultimately led to the end of my employment.

I started as a technician, and again had to prove myself to my employer. We had great relationships with many large property management companies that owned first class business parks and high-rise buildings. I was involved with many installations, eventually managing installations. Some installations I managed include, small access control and fire alarm system up fits in business parks, high rise housing authority fire alarm, access control, security, CCTV, nurse call and telephone entry… Show more I started as a technician, and again had to prove myself to my employer. Some installations I managed include, small access control and fire alarm system up fits in business parks, high rise housing authority fire alarm, access control, security, CCTV, nurse call and telephone entry systems. I managed and installed several fire alarm systems at Davidson college a loyal, long-term customer. I was especially proud of the Westin Hotel project which I managed and installed, was sent to a training course for the equipment being utilized and successfully implemented the CCTV and security systems. I was thrilled when the door opened for a sales position, Ijumped right through. Working with existing customers to provide the systems and service they expected. I was responsible for the sales and implementation of remotely accessible security, access control, CCTV and telephone entry systems for the Charlotte Housing Authority. I sold the hard disk drive storage for a CCTV system consisting of 65 cameras which needed to be recorded for three years because of insurance reasons. Lots of blinking lights. The sales project that I am most proud of was getting Davidson college into ethernet dialers. I implemented r&d systems to try to eliminate half of the two phone lines provided for around 80 fire alarm systems on campus. I finally found that Bosch introduced and was able to provide a product that was able to meet the customers needs and I sold it. Bosch even did a case study on the project. I ended my employment with CRS to move back home to Iowa. (for some reason) Show less I started as a technician, and again had to prove myself to my employer. I started at Interface summer 1996 as a summer job. I was new to the industry, but enjoyed the work. I rapidly moved forward in knowledge and position. Ending up in Charlotte, representing Interface in the Southeast. I managed several large installs, ran service and even had a taste of sales. Unfortunately the constant travel forced me to look for local employment. I started at Interface summer 1996 as a summer job. I was new to the industry, but enjoyed the work.
