    • Warehouse Manager
      • Jun 2014 - Jan 2018

      • Managing and Developing Distribution Staff With a shift of 38 staff it was my role to make sure each staff member was trained to the right standards and could for fill their given tasks to the best of their ability. I would provide on the job trainings as well as liaise with Human resources to book outside trainings. To get the best out of my staff I believe in Managing though Motivation and praise where it is due. This worked very well creating a very happy and productive environment. I would provide my staff with a Quarterly Personal development review or One to one giving them chance to give their own feedback. As well as this I always held an open-door policy. • Logistics and Order fulfilment Processing orders to be fulfilled was key. Using the AS400 database I would be required to print the orders checking for errors in addresses or names. Once this was done we would then Process the labels to match the order and send the information to FedEx who collect our orders at a later time. If an order was destined for Jersey the process was longer as More information was required and a different type of label was used. Once the orders are processed I would give them a final check before releasing them to be picked and packed. FedEx would have to be contacted on a regular basis to arrange pick up of all processed orders. Other logistical roles included ordering stock and organizing delivery as well as its storage at the warehouse. • Head of Health and Safety Whist working at Forever I acquired my IOSH certificate in Health and safety and subsequently was given the role of Head of Health and Safety. This saw me take charge of 2 other members of staff who were Health and Safety trained. Between us we would risk assess Hazards within the warehouse and try to reduce or eradicate any Hazards raised. • Forklift Driver • First aider and Fire marshal Show less

  • Insurance Choice
    • Leamington Spa
    • Insurance Broker
      • Mar 2012 - Nov 2012

Working as part of the private car team I predominantly dealt with High risk drivers. These were drivers who had motoring convictions and sometimes criminal convictions. Insurance premiums for people in the high-risk category are often very expensive. It was my job to find them the best rate I could. To do this I would first take as many details as possible over the telephone. Customer relations was key to gaining the right information, therefore we would build up a rapport with the client. All information would be entered into a database and I would receive a list of potential underwriters. It was then I would go to the different underwriters trying to broker the best possible deal. At the end, I Would then deliver this deal to the client and place them on cover. There was often lots of paperwork involved to make sure all insurance policies were compliant with financial law. • Oct 2011 - Mar 2012

The role as a care assistant was rewarding. It required me to care for a group of very vulnerable adults suffering with advanced stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. The nature of this disease meant that many of the patients at Seabright could not perform basic tasks without help or at all. Main tasks included but were not exclusive to: o Helping residents at meal time and feeding. o Organizing engaging activities o Helping residents bath, wash and dress o Checking residents for wounds or bed sores o General cleaning duties around the nursing home o Taking residents on supervised outings Show less

    • IM&T Support officer SystmOne
      • Oct 2008 - Mar 2010

      • Setup and installation Part of the incentive for joining Systmone was that GP surgeries and hospitals got a new PC setup that supported Systmone. It would be my job to help go out and install these new PCs and install and setup Systmone for use. It was a great chance to meet the staff who I would be training to use Systmone at a later date and build a repport. At that time doctors and nurses were nervous about having to learn a whole new system so putting minds at ease was a key task within the setup process. Once the system was setup all the surgeries current files then needed uploading to Systmone Manually. We had to enter each patient NHS number and go through a set of steps to make sure the patient was on file. Sometimes this could take days due to the number of patients on file. • Systmone Training My main role Was training the GPs and Nurses on how Systmone worked and how it could be used. We were met with some big challenges from nurses across Calderdale and Kirklees. They felt that systmone was complex and they struggled to grasp its concept. I started scheduling in one to one trainings and soon became the go to trainer. I was told this was because I simplified trainings down and was empathetic to the nurse’s problems whist still getting all the information required across. I also had an on-call service so that nurses on nights could contact me in emergencies as finding and uploading patient information was imperative to their jobs. The main way which I would hold a training session would be a one to one although I did hold group sessions too. I would provide laminated handouts and keep the trainings light hearted. Although I would start with dummy patients, I would always finish with the trainees inputting actual patient information so that both practical and theoretical sides were covered. Show less
