Greenwich Park was a challenging venue and hosting nearly 400,000 spectators during the 2 weeks of competition, add to that the Cross Country which saw almost 60,000 spectators enter the venue in one day. The responsibility of cleaning this large venue ( 94 ha ) fell to Jay and his team to manage. Long hours of work with specialized equipment was needed to make sure the World Heritage Site of Greenwich Park looked immaculate everyday. The images that were broadcast to the world were testimonial to Jay's management and hard work. Initially employed to fulfil the role of Manager of Cleaning and Waste, my portfolio was increased in February 2016 to include the Catering Functional Area. • Lead the Catering, Cleaning and Waste (CCW) Functional Areas (FAs) in developing venue and client specific catering and cleaning and waste models. • Lead the development of a unique Games-time Food Experience • Develop a delivery model and policies and procedures to support the delivery of this service • Scope, negotiate and manage multiple catering and cleaning and waste contracts to ensure all aspects of Games-time food and beverage service,cleaning and waste removal service are in line with the agreed standards. • Ensure the CCW service meets each of the nutritional, cultural and religious needs of the GOLDOC clients. In addition meets the needs of each client group and ensures a consistent approach to venue cleanliness and waste disposal • Ensure service delivery • In collaboration with the Workforce FA, develop realistic staffing projections and strategies • In consultation with contracted caterers, cleaners and waste management groups, review workforce recruitment strategies and monitor recruitment rates to ensure sufficient, appropriately skilled staff are recruited and trained • Build sponsor relationships. • Ensure venue planning incorporates the needs of the various CCW services at all venues • Oversee the management of the CCW budget • Oversee all aspects of contract delivery • Provide Games-time governance and oversight • Ensure strict CCW contractor adherence to all relevant legislative and regulatory standards • Ensure a high standard of customer service • Monitor sustainability targets, respond to variations and reporting of target metrics to Sustainability FA. • Develop and distribute daily reports against delivery and financial targets • Oversee the CCW Functional Area Command Centre and report in line with the daily rhythm to the Games Operations Centre Show less

The Project Director is responsible and accountable for the entire Toronto 2015 Pan American games Housekeeping and Cleaning Services to the Athletes Village. Looking after up to 200 staff, managing the Accommodation Services to approx. 10000 athletes, over a 6 week period during July and August for the Pan Am /Para Pan Am Games. This role requires extensive planning and preparation time around 9 months prior to the initial athlete occupation within the village. The Project Director will oversee all facets of the businesses involvement within the games. - Project Planning - Client liaison with both TO2015 Officials and National Olympic Committee Officials - Recruitment and Training of all Housekeeping and Cleaning Management and Staff - Service delivery as set out in the SLA and KPI’s - Meeting monthly deadlines set by TO2015 for Project Deliverables - Accreditation - Compliance with all Health and Safety Laws - Meeting budget targets - Reporting to both Internal and External Stakeholders - Logistical Planning for Bump In and Bump Out of equipment The Project Director reports into the COO but will need to be capable of making on the spot decisions where required without waiting for the consent from higher authorities. Jay brings to this position a wealth of games time experience having worked on the London 2012 Olympics, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Inaugural 2015 European Games in Baku.
