My role as an audit manager includes managing audit team under my controls; developing and monitoring adherence to audit budgets, coaching junior staff members, building relationships with audit clients and assisting clients with matters that go beyond an audit ie. Tax assistance. I have assisted in identifying new business opportunities at clients and been involved in drafting proposal documents for prospective clients. As an audit manager, I have gained exposure to a number of key financial sections within an entity and these include amongst others: Accounts Receivable; Inventory; Purchases and Payables and Revenue. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium Entities (IFRS for SMEs) are key standards both globally and locally and become accustomed to both these standards; assisted both fellow colleagues and audit clients in ensuring adhere to these standards and ensured that audit clients financial statements meet the disclosure requirements set out in these standards. I have not only developed strong technical skills at PwC but also strong team leadership and interpersonal skills that has assisted me in managing my audit teams effectively and getting the best results out of them at all times.
