  IO Group is a small independent film company. I started as a production assistant and viral content producer. I became Production Manager in early 2013, at which point I became involved in all aspects of the filmmaking process from inception to directing the movies and finally onto editing and post-production. It’s been a very rewarding experience and has allowed me to develop and hone skills like team leadership, project planning, scheduling and organization, adhering to strict release schedules and quality control, planning and running productions and guiding employee development. Other duties involved maintaining and storing legal paperwork and documents, managing our studio’s social media accounts, repair and maintenance of production gear and cameras. Despite generally working remotely from head office, I was successful in demonstrating that I could effectively manage production, staff, editing, etc. on my own.   EKRA Group was an independent film company . I was responsible for conceiving, designing and executing marketing campaigns along with creating press releases and working in publicity and promotions. Responsibilities included creating graphics, preparing finished work for websites/emails and then working with our IT team for distributionto include working with streaming and distribution companies to sustain a steady release schedule. I managed the studio’s social media accounts and worked with independent press and bloggers. I worked independently as well as part of an upper management team. I also found my tenure at EKRA a rewarding experience that challenged me, constantly facing unexpected problems that required me to think on the fly and outside the box at times, in order to solve these problems.   I began at HMV as retail floor staff, but soon became part of their purchasing team. My duties as Import Buyer included following a strict budget, compiling a weekly new release catalogue for the department buyers and facilitate international shipments.I maintained excellent relationships with international product representatives and kept track of international orders as they made their way through customs and brokers to our location. My duties as purchasing manager expanded to being responsible for the store’s inventory and purchasing budgets for the individual departments. I’m very proud of the work I did in maintaining a good balance between top-seller content and the more profitable but lower-sale catalogue titles. Show less
