This includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to acquisition, administering a procurement training and certification program, and assisting all state and local governmental entities. Accomplishments Brought 47% more spend under control of my office over the previous six year period through contract consolidation efforts, outreach to state and local agencies, and proactively including internal and external representatives in our strategic sourcing activities. Led continuous improvement teams to identify and improve procurement-related processes in FY17, collectively saving nearly $7 million per year in time and efficiency gains using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. These efforts brought Alaska nationwide recognition and top honors from the National Association of State Officials (NASPO) for excellence and innovation in public procurement. Led an overhaul of the procurement certification training program, including complete redesign of curriculum. This program is self-sustaining, improves recruitment and retention, and generates revenue. Formed a first-of-its-kind IT procurement team dedicated to working with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) on technology purchases and strategy. This team was built with stability and knowledge transfer in mind, providing a clear path for advancement from entry-level to management, and serves as a model for future procurement team development.
