Being a small business owner is not an easy task. It is self-rewarding and the hard work does pay off. Since becoming a business owner I realize you can’t just sit there and think about the challenges you are going face. You must jump in, face them, and work past them. Scentral Dispatch LLC was founded because my wife and I were constantly disappointment with lackluster room sprays and soaps we bought at festivals and craft stores throughout the country over the years. Through research and development I've created products that I feel are superior to most similar handmade and commercial products on the current market today. Other than the help from LegalZoom to help set up the LLC and start the process to trademark the name 'Scentral Dispatch', I started up my business on my own. Of course I faced uncharted waters and I had fears of messing up and/or failing. I did have failures when trying to perfect the correct ratio of ingredients for the products, but I overcame the failures by pressing on and pushing through. There are no challenges that cannot be resolved. My skillset with inventory control, scheduling, and with two decades of experience using Microsoft products has helped my business run more smoothly. As my business grows, I am always challenging myself on ways to make things even more efficient and become better with time management. The customer is always #1 and delivering a quality product in a timely manner is a great satisfaction for me. No matter what accomplishments I have as a small business owner, I only have my current and previous employers to thank. Each company has each taught me different ways and viewpoints. What I have done is taken everything I have learned and I use it within my own business model. Show less

Materials Manager
-
Jun 2021 - Aug 2023
Being a manager is a fun yet challenging role. It is not about yourself, but the willingness to help out your team by listening to their concerns and taking action, challenging them within their role, keeping them motivated, and also by hiring people that will be a good overall fit for the team.During my time as manager, I have created a receipt identification label in Excel that identifies all critical aspects of incoming material by pulling together 3 reports from an ERP system. These material labels help all teams be more efficient with product placement and assembly builds. I assisted in developing a more efficient receiving area by placing all of the tools needed to do the job successfully within the same area and I implemented a system for organizing purchased to job items. This increased the efficiency of tool assembly builds by 50% and eliminated product misplacement. Show less

Master Scheduler
-
Dec 2017 - Jun 2021
The master scheduler job was an important job that I enjoyed. It’s a job that being detail oriented and very organized is critical to keeping everything linked together. As the master scheduler I received bill of materials (BOM’s) from designers that were created for the build of robotic cells. Once the cells were built and tested they will be distributed amongst the now AUTOKINITON (formerly L&W and TOWER) facilities within the company. After receiving the designers BOM, I reviewed the budget for the job, quoted out prints for tooling, awarded machine shops RFQ packages, and sent purchase requisitions to purchasing for all the purchased to job items. Once due dates were established, I scheduled jobs for the tool and die personnel so the tooling builds were completed on time by tracking incoming material and always being in constant contact with suppliers. While in this position I re-developed systems and processes that have made tracking and data management possible with ease. I created several Excel documents that have saved hours of laborious data entry time from the time a BOM is released to a purchase order is processed. Show less

Production Scheduler
-
Jan 2016 - Dec 2017
This job was fun, challenging, and rewarding. It was satisfying to see customer orders go from raw material to a finished product and ship on time. I was a bit nervous when hired. The GM wanted someone good with numbers and scheduling, not a machinist. I didn’t know a lathe from a mill, however I learned about the machinery and was able to learn their capabilities to become a very successful scheduler. I scheduled the manufacturing jobs for CNC lathes, CNC Mills, manual machining areas, and the warehouse saws. In order to be successful, I combined multiple reports from different databases and created Excel spreadsheets to make an efficient machining and saw schedule. My focus was to schedule jobs so that each machinist will have minimal setup time between jobs and could produce a greater number of parts per shift. With this mindset along with strong leadership from the management team we were able to reduce past due orders from 350 (3,000 labor hours) to 0 within 11 months! As new orders came in I evaluated them to determine if I can run them with a similar job and then scheduled them in. Once scheduled I followed the orders through each operation to ensure that the order gets completed and shipped in a timely manner. I took pride in my work. I was very committed and enjoyed being part of the Bunting Bearings family. Our main goal at Bunting Bearings was to be efficient while manufacturing quality products and delivering them to the customer on time! Show less

Supply Chain / Production Coordinator, Taiwan Division
-
Jan 1998 - Dec 2015
This job was fulfilling while working at a good pace. Not overwhelming, yet never boring. I learned a lot, which helped me be successful within this organization and with my future career opportunities. After being a team leader for four years I was asked to facilitate the startup of the MAC Valves, Taiwan division. I created systems, procedures, guidelines, and trained personnel to get the division up and running smoothly. This division exported components to the Taiwan facility to be assembled into pneumatic valves. After assembly, the valves would be imported back to the U.S. for domestic sales or sold directly to distributors overseas. This job kept my mind involved in complex situations which pushed my multitasking and organizational skills to even a higher level. My team and I managed the valve and component scheduling, packaging, invoicing, location transfers, export shipping, import receiving, month end reporting, ordering of raw material from purchasing and internal manufacturing groups, and determining how to ship the material, which was decided based upon backlog demand. Under my management we grew our Taiwan annual production from 200,000 units to 3.1 million units. We also increased the variety of models we stocked in our U.S. warehouses from 5 to 1,000 models. We maintained the most accurate inventory within the company with a 99.7% accuracy of $10,000,000+ worth of product within our two local warehouses. Show less

REALTOR®
-
Apr 2010 - Dec 2013
Being a REALTOR® was a great job. My main role was a buyers agent. It was a critical role with representing a client with finding their dream home within their desired location and price point. Purchasing a home is a nothing to take lightly, especially for first time home buyers. I made sure my clients felt comfortable and confident with their decision making. Never rushed and never pressured. I worked with numerous clients to find them homes that met their needs and price range by setting up appointments and showing them homes that were on the market. Once the right home was found, we wrote and executed purchase agreements while following State of Michigan laws and local REALTOR board rules and regulations. There were challenges involved and if those challenges affected my clients, I kept my clients calm and thinking positive. I had that never give up attitude and always had a plan ‘B’ in mind. Before each and every closing I'd reconcile the closing docs with an Excel spreadsheet I made. I did find errors on some documents and when they were corrected it ended up saving my clients hundreds of dollars at the closing table. It was a great feeling to be able to make sure my clients were well cared for from the beginning until the end of their transaction. Show less
