    • Deputy Manager
      • Oct 2012 - Oct 2013

 As a deputy manager I was responsible for leading a team of up to 31 staff and ensuring that they follow the company policies and procedures at all times whilst providing a high quality of care. I oversaw the general day to day running of the home whilst the home manager concentrates on other tasks. My day to day task included staffing/holidays/absence monitoring, controlling and managing service users monies, weekly shopping, coshh ordering, ensuring staff are correctly supervised/inducted, carrying out medication assessments on staff/training them to dispense and administer correctly, medication auditing, fire safety/testing, health and safety checks including infection control and maintenance checks. I was responsible for the team managers and ensuring that they were carrying out the tasks expected of them or filling in for them in their absence. I also personally inducted our new staff and give them training/knowledge about the residents to give them the best start possible.  I would ensure that there is a full audit trail of all of my responsibilities in the event of an inspection or audit. I have been involved in two inspections both of which were passed and I believe the availability of well-organized information played a part in this.  I was responsible for conducting interviews either alone or with the registered manager for positions within the home and for positions in the sister home.
