      I started working at Sweethaven as a Network and Server Engineer Apprentice. As a sales assistant and technical engineer, my primary focus to hit sales targets and overall revenue across each month . This has helped me to expand my knowledge on sales practices and fundamental aspects of technology. My course has given me the privilege of getting educated on computer systems, and how to fix numerous issues ranging from software installations, to hardware-based failures. The job amplified my passion for computer systems and PC building, while also kick-starting my career as a computer technician. Since this initially was only a hobby, I had to research and study at home to comprehend more about the systems and improve my PC building skills. I was given several opportunities during the course to expand my career and acquire new skills such as leadership, time management, handling objections and complaints and delivering excellent customer care. Before my course finished, I was promoted to a key holder and later to a team leader, being responsible for a team of roughly 5 members. As a team leader, I am responsible of ensuring that individual targets. These targets are monitored by Key Performance Indicators and weekly meetings which I conduct with my team members on a private individual basis.

      Throughout the time I was working there, I had grown familiar with the skills needed to successfully deal with the public. As a Sales Assistant, my job involved serving the customers on tills and guiding people with the newly installed “Self-service tills”. Away from the till I was able to perform several other tasks, such as shelf replenishment and customer general enquiries. W.H.Smith has given me the confidence to communicate positively with the staff and the clientele, but also with others outside of work . Finally, after a year of working for WHSmith, I was trusted with a set of keys to let myself and my colleagues in the store.
