As an Energy Project Manager for Coles, I was responsible for the strategic delivery of the Coles Energy Efficiency Program. My role specifically required me to; • Develop and implement energy projects that deliver significant energy savings to the business; • Consider the whole life-cycle of energy projects; • Provide leading edge energy management practices particularly in the areas of refrigeration, HVAC, lighting and other energy uses in a Supermarket application; • Liaise with suppliers, technology providers, contractors, Refrigeration and HVAC Maintenance providers to deliver and implement energy savings; • Liaise with Government regulators on matters relating to energy management and mandatory reporting; including the Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) Program; • Monitor and evaluate energy usage and identify opportunities for increasing energy efficiency • Understand and interrogate energy and environmental reporting systems to provide management and key stakeholders (incl Govt) with information about energy usage and corporate greenhouse gas emissions; • Provide input into the Wesfarmers Sustainability Report on Energy efficiency reporting requirements for Coles; • Manage and assist with environmental projects in areas including waste management and resource efficiency.

As an Environmental Sustainability Officer with Moira Shire Council my role involved me having to: • Liaise with relevant organisations, government departments, agencies and authorities, landowners and other relevant stakeholders on environmental sustainability issues; • Develop and implement strategies, policies, guidelines and programs aimed to increase awareness of sustainability issues with respect to the natural and built environment; • Develop and implement programs to increase council and community awareness on environmental sustainability matters and issues; • Implement Council’s sustainability programs and annual campaigns including Cities for Climate Protection (CCP), ECO-Buy, Goulburn Broken Greenhouse Alliance programs, Clean Up Australia Day, National Water Week, National Recycling Week and National Tree Day; • Represent Council on relevant committees and at meetings and events as appropriate; • Actively participate as a Team Member and contribute to the achievement of the Council Plan objectives, Natural Environment Strategy objectives, and Waste Management Business Plan objectives; • Increase community awareness of environment and sustainability issues through annual campaigns, external advisory committees and school education programs; • Annually report green procurement through ECO-Buy; • Quarterly monitor and report (Planet Footprint) Council’s scope 1 and scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions in line with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) process; • Submit grant applications related to environment and sustainability; • Develop a coordinated Environment and Sustainability Strategy providing clear guidance on actions and targets addressing sustainability and environmental issues; • Encourage and promote cross departmental participation in sustainability issues and the implementation of environmental priorities;
