• Created and implemented a new orchestrated and national approach to increase the visibility of the Association’s asks to government through the provincial election process. This resulted in five provinces increasing benefits that supported families with diabetes through enhanced formulary coverage, increased financial support for people with the disease, and the creation of new publicly funded programs. These successes were achieved through the creation and integration of new technology, enhanced training opportunities, and an emphasis on social media. • Co-initiated and obtained a $120,000 Google Adwords grant for the Association, which led to a 20% increase in traffic to the Association’s national website, creating conditions for increased Association visibility and opportunity for donation. • Secured provincial government policy changes by coordinating, delivering and releasing evidence-based research reports, achieving well over 100 million media impressions. These policy changes are now in place and are supporting the wellbeing of families with diabetes across the country through increased affordable access to diabetes medications, devices and supplies, and new diabetes programs and services. • Championed the transition from paper-based communication to the development and usage of online tools, and the use of social media. While still early in the transition process, this new direction has led to the Association experiencing an expanded target audience for its messaging, more meaningful communication with it key stakeholders, increased volunteerism, and enhanced fund development opportunities. Provided officer-level support in the areas of media relations, event management and policy writing for diplomats posted in Ottawa. • Worked with key stakeholders to develop and manage an informal stakeholder board entitled the Israeli Cultural Forum, with the purpose of coordinating planning and financial resources. Through the work of the Forum, the Embassy was able to greatly increase its involvement and impact within the Ottawa cultural milieu • Managed and promoted small to large scale cultural events in Ottawa, including bringing the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Canadian Museum of Civilization. This work included developing and implementing targeted media relations strategies (integrating both earned and paid media), stakeholder engagement, and overall public relations. As a result, relationships were built with key Ottawa media and cultural institutions that continue to date, and have allowed for enhanced presence for the country represented in major festivals, exhibits and events. • Served as a spokesperson, facilitated interviews and provided content for local and national written, radio and televised media. This work included drafting opinion/editorials, advertisements and letters to the editor that raised the profile of the country represented within the country. • Drafting the content and contributed to the structure of the Embassy’s first website. The release of the website was the first step in transforming the Embassy’s overall communications strategy. • Provided regular media analyses and Canadian policy review updates for diplomats that were used as a framework for their reporting.
