I came into this role on a Contract until 31st March 2020 (the Company was moving to Coventry) and felt this position would give me some experience in a role that I have not had a lot of exposure to. I was part of the core team implementing SAP Concur as the new expense system and have become an Administrator and continue to aid those that need it. I have also dealt with the Accounts Payable and payments, raising of Inter Company sales ledger invoices, and collection of monthly Inter Company monies. I was also responsible for raising and reconciling Inter Company balances, along with providing the DAT's (Data Analysis Tables), and the raising, checking, and processing of payments in line with the Authority Matrix.

When I first went into the job I led the integration from Sage 200 to a Microsoft Dynamics GP solution and continued to provide on going training. Liaised with Vendors and Companies under the G&W umbrella (parent company) ensuring good relations were maintained. Ensured weekly payments runs were processed efficiently and all AP functions were compliant with the U.S. SOX regulations. Unfortunately, the Company moved to Birmingham so I was made redundant.

Promoted from Controller to Supervisor when department migrated from UK to Group. Recommending, developing and implementing new processes to continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department. Trained all team members in existing and additional responsibilities following departmental restructure of key roles. Implemented a change in the payment process reducing time, environmental, and storage costs. Assisting with the preparation to ensure a swift and successful transition of the Purchase Ledger function following Company takeover in October 2016 whilst still providing support to both the existing and new team. As a Purchase Ledger Controller I was responsible for all aspects of the Purchase Ledger from inputting to month end shutdown. Consulted about an additional accounts software package from the concept stage to its’ implementation; main contact between in-house departments and outside developers. All aspects of Rent including 170 Clubs with payments of over £6 million on a quarterly basis along with monthly payments and resolving queries with the Managing Agents. Maintaining database of over 1,500 Group Exercise Instructors ensuring authorisation and payment deadlines were adhered to. Provided reports and supported the Finance Controller during Company Voluntary Arrangement process. Processing and reconciling expenses and credit cards in line with business policies. Accurate review of statement reconciliations, commenting on any discrepancies. Unfortunately, the business was sold and I was made redundant.
