General Stimulation Process Engineer
-
Dec 2014 - Apr 2016
- Designed, executed, and evaluated hydraulic fracturing treatments on oil and gas wells in the United States generating over $2 million revenue per treatment for Schlumberger.- Managed stand-alone and with a fracturing supervisor up to 15 operators during treatment execution following standard work procedures while performing treatment analysis, QA/QC, material balance, and troubleshooting.- QA/QC involved pre-job and on-the-fly inventory variance tracking, water analysis, chemical analysis, sand sieving, and pilot gel mixing in the district lab and in the field lab.- Onsite prep of hydraulic fracturing treatment included managing and assisting in setup and calibration of equipment and machinery (hydration units, blenders, pumps, etc.) to pump hydraulic fluids into the oil and gas wells, essentially “building a mobile chemical processing plant.”- Loaned out to other districts in the US to perform high risk jobs and jobs for newer clients.- Trained new engineers in hydraulic fracturing procedures and QA/QC. Training included one-on-one mentoring and development of written work procedures specific per client for future engineers to follow during job executions.- Performed QHSE event investigations and wellsite audits checking for adherence to OSHA, API, ISO, and Schlumberger standards. The project used the new technology as a remedial solution on clients' wells with downhole issues allowing for the wells to be completed and produce at a level similar to nearby wells, saving the clients from writing off and abandoning the wells. The method used existing software and hardware from the field allowing for rapid implementation at zero cost while saving Schlumberger and the clients NPT and losses associated with well damage from incorrect guar concentrations.
