Jason worked for me as a Student Ambassador at PCA&D, a program developed to introduce prospective students to current students, with the goal that the Student Ambassador provides "the inside scoop" of student life and the rigors of college-level art studies. Student Ambassadors were selected from a pool of students recommended on the basis of academic strength, positive attitude, and ability (and willingness) to share their experiences in a variety of different recruitment settings. They would travel to schools with recruitment staff, and speak with groups about their experiences. Jason always represented the college well, and spoke positively of the program and life as a college student. Sharing his experiences with HS students looking to pursue the art college experience allowed Jason to hone his communication skills and develop strategies for being flexible in dealing with people in different settings. He was dependable, a lot of fun to work with; he seemed to genuinely enjoy the Student Ambassador experience, and taking on the role of mentor to younger art students.
