• Design Engineer - I design the framing and foundations using environmental data from wind pressures and geotechnical reports for various buildings, bridges, and other structures. I specialize in timber, steel, and reinforced concrete design. • Project Manager – I direct and supervise CADD operators and EIT’s design drawings and documents. I assist office managers to keep track of billing and time spent on projects. I attend construction progress meetings with clients and contractors. I coordinate and alter design documents to provide ease of construction and cost effectiveness for the general contractor and their sub-contractors. • Inside Salesman – I answer phone calls from past and potential clients to determine their needs and how I can assist or provide a service. I set up meetings to promote and market my coworker’s and my self’s capacities as engineers to secure client’s business. I make cold calls and visits to past clients to maintain professional relations and obtain future design projects. • Cost Estimator – I estimate company resources and provide clients with cost proposals. I make quantities estimate of the materials to be used for the construction of buildings as well as a rough cost estimate of those materials. Show less
