These responsibilities include: Conducting “Evaluate and Treat Protocol” assessments, administering breathing treatments, incentive spirometry, PEP therapy, CPT, ECG's, trach care, CPAP management, and smoking cessation education. The hospital has a level 2 status nursery that allows babies up to six weeks premature to be treated. Responsibilities include: Assisting Labor/Delivery staff in every newborn delivery (regardless of risk level), administering oxygen, invasive and non-invasive positive pressure, pharyngeal and tracheal suctioning, surfactant therapy, and CPR to any neonate in distress.
