I advise a case load of 200 first-year, transfer, non-traditional, international, and readmitted students on the development and selection of course schedules consistent with each individual students' academic, financial, personal, and career goals, and help design individual academic support plans and programming to support student success. I create strategized retention efforts through advising by the creation of advising campaigns, detailed student outreach, personalized orientation appointments, and utilizing assessment tools. I track student enrollment and engagement through Client Relations Management and PeopleSoft systems to collect data on retention. I assist in the recruitment, application review, interviewing, hiring, and training of student and administrative staff for the planning and programming of upcoming orientation sessions throughout the academic year; and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, administrative staff, and students from various backgrounds both at the University of Kansas and other Higher Education Institutions through the planning and coordinating of large, organized campus events, liaison appointments, committee work.

In addition, I conducted research on various issues related to retention, orientation, second-year programming, and academic advising that aided in the creation of the Second-Year Experience and Second-Year Success Team at the University of Lynchburg.
