I am on a team with one other colleague. We are in charge of 10 psychological experts who produce psychological reports on clients which stand in court. This is to help towards a personal injury claim for example, a road traffic accident, a data breach, clinical negligence etc. I am responsible for: leasing with clients, instructing parties and solicitors in order to arrange appointments for clients; filling the experts clinics with clients; checking and sending off the reports produced by the psychological experts to the instructing parties and/or solicitors; sending the correct invoices to the instructing parties; checking the invoices produced by our experts for our accounts team and handling any queries on the phones. Myself and my colleague have to work together in order to get all our jobs done for the week, this means we really have to work well together and communicate well, not only between us but also with our team leaders and managers. When I joined the company, I was checkout staff at 17-18 years old. After I left school, I was promoted to a team leader of checkouts at 18-19 years old. I counted tills in the morning and evenings, being trusted to handle cash independently. I was responsible for having everything in the safe correctly for the next day. I was responsible for around 20 cashiers covering main bank tills, kiosk and the petrol station. It was my job to organise shift breaks for everyone in my team, making sure every station was covered correctly. Sometimes this meant having to cover something myself for breaks or when we got busy. Managers often came to me for advice on how best to run checkouts as my opinion was respected. I always made sure my jobs were done correctly and on time so that everyone could go home on time. Any customer issues were dealt with by myself and mostly resolved by myself however, if I felt the need to escalate this then I would call a manager. I was in charge of making sure baskets and trollies were replenished on a regular basis. This was either by myself or a colleague, depending on how much staff I had on shift with me. I took a lot of pride in my work and always strived to prove myself to my mangers above me. I was asked to train new staff as my skills were recognised. A lot of this training was when to correctly ID someone for an age restricted item. I started this job whilst doing my A-levels and proceeded to carry this on after school. I did well in A-levels but university was not something I wanted for myself, so chose to better my experience in the work place. I am very proud of how far I have come in such a short amount of time and I think it shows how much hard work I am willing to put in to achieve my goals. Show less

I was a food runner at Brasserie Blanc from 16-17 years of age. I was doing this whilst in school and covid. I was required to collect the food from the serve point by checking the ticket for the correct items, and delivering it to the table safely. I was also required to collect the empty plates and take them back to the kitchen for washing. I would be required to assist customer whoever they needed. My shifts were usually in the evenings, however, on a weekend I would work the morning as well. This shows my dedication to the job. It was a lot of work for the wage I was on, but it was a good start to my working life, especially as I was in school whilst doing this. Show less
