During the summer of 2020, I had a virtual internship with GE Renewable Energy and I worked in the wind energy department. My internship was originally supposed to be in-person, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of the interns were required to work remotely from home. During my time with this company, I learned about wind energy, the components that make up a wind turbine, and I learned about the environmental conditions that must be considered when designing a wind turbine. My responsibilities typically involved assisting senior employees by searching through company files for project related information. One of the projects that I worked on involved me helping an employee with a design flaw in one of the turbines. We had to determine the most time and cost efficient approach to resolve the issue. At QPSI, I worked as an intern for the solutions department. During my time there, I assisted the site's head engineer. My main project was to update the system that kept track of the quantity and type of equipment that was used in the warehouse. I was also responsible for updating the preventative maintenance instructions for all of the equipment. At QPSI, I worked as an intern for the solutions department.
