Childcare Provider

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was hired as a full-time Nanny for a family with 2 children age 7 and 9. My role as a caretaker was to ensure that the children were in a constant safe, fun and learning environment and to build a trusting relationship with the children. This experience further developed my knowledge of child development and included practical childcare techniques and ultimately personal growth. Essential skills - Patience: Strengthening my ability to wait and to avoid becoming quickly frustrated and remaining calm and confident - Communication: working towards effective communication with children. - Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Helping to resolve disagreements between both children and to quickly think of new solutions to complications - The importance of a balanced nutrition plan - Organization and Multitasking: Learning what needs to be a priority as well as joggling many different responsibilities. - Safety skills: First aid as well as constantly ensuring that it is a safe space. Additional safety precautions were implemented due to COVID-19 requirements. - How to promote and foster healthy relationships: Maintained a loving environment and creates a strong bond with all of the family members. Promoting kindness and empathy. - Healthy behaviour management: Helping children understand their emotions and learn techniques that will aid in emotional self-regulation.
