As a Programme Director in Interior Design, I have known Jason Chia as a student since 2003 when he did his Bachelor Degree (Honour) in Interior Architecture with Curtin University. He completed his Degree at night while working full time as a designer. He then worked many years in the industry, before coming to teach Interior Design in our Raffles College of Higher Education (RCHE) in Singapore. He has been a lecturer from July 2012 till March 2019. He has contributed to the Interior Design Programme delivered in Singapore as a talented interior designer and a teaching staff for the department. We have worked together on several modules and projects concerning the teaching development of our Interior Design programme. We have developed a fruitful collaboration and shared many aspects of teaching methods and design knowledge. Mr. Jasen Chia is a dedicated lecturer, always seeking for excellence and innovative solutions in design. His knowledge about creative thinking, Computer Aided-Drawing, rendering and design is impressive. He has developed a great sense of intuition and perfect ability to see potentials in many aspects of design. He has guided many students to participate and win many awards in design competitions for our school. Mr. Jasen Chia has a track record in terms of academic performance and standing, academic leadership, design development and responsibility for curriculum delivery. His support in our department has shown his dedication to the students and his curiosity to develop and improve his knowledge. He was in charge to teach modules in Interior design, for our Advanced Diploma, Degree programmes for Chester University UK and Coventry University UK.
