I have many years of working in the Auto/property insurance field as a claims adjuster and recently decided to follow my passion as a writer. The skills I've taken from my previous career is great communication, punctuality and problem solving. I have varied interest and can write on a number of topics. I love to write about culture, cities, and other niche topics. I can also write on fitness, insurance, parenting and technology. Work from home claims adjusting for property damage. After obtaining details of the storm damage with the insured, reviewing policy and other key endorsements- a vendor would be sent out to provide a roof report to the desk adjuster. The report would consist of an overview of what the inspector saw as far as roof and/or elevation damage, photos, written sketch along with Eagleview report. From there, this information would be reviewed by myself, and an estimate would be written based off of the inspection. From there, claims were settled and closed until supplement was received. A skill I was able to harness from this particular job was the value of a well written denial letter. I learned to be able to more effectively utilize policy language and include it in the letters.
