This includes contributing information to help decide on date, city and venue selection to take into account client feedback, venue cost and functionality, public holidays, competitive events and growth aspirations.Work closely with the Head of Operations to regularly re-forecast event spend budgets throughout the financial year based on performance of other events with the aim of ensuring overall yearly department targets are met. At BME Global I was responsible for the operational planning and management of high level strategic conferences, with accompanying large scale international exhibitions, taking place in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East region. The position also required full control and oversight of individual budgets for both the conference and exhibition elements of each event. As well as handling all sourcing, negotiation and management with suppliers, I had 'hands-on' involvement in a wide range of other processes and tasks required for each event including production of event show guides, dealing with the production of both small and large scale print items and staff management both pre-event and on site. I acted as the key point of contact for all event sponsors as soon as they came on board, including sourcing, proofing and approving the deliverables contained in their sponsorship packages. I also acted as the key point of contact for all conference speakers. As a result of both of these aspects and the experience gained in my previous roles, I am used to working with sponsors and speakers from companies of all sizes on a daily basis. Show less
