My work sits at the intersection of network theory, community ecology, and multivariate statistics. We know that the effect of a species going extinct depends on its role in a food web and the structure of the food web itself. At NCEAS, I am developing theory relating food web network structure to transfer of energy and nutrients through food web. I'm then using testing this theory against results from past experiments and large-scale datasets from organizations around the globe.
