I have worked for my family’s farming operation from on a continuous basis since its conception. Lochaven’s mandate is to naturally graze beef cattle on pasture with an emphasis on sustainability and low inputs. This custom grazing business has successfully met or exceeded weight gain expectations each year of its operation. Although I am typically tasked with upstream/midstream oil and gas across the Prairie Provinces, I have spent a good deal of time working on the Bipole III Transmission Reliability Project in Manitoba, numerous telecommunications projects and a unique renewable resources venture. I have experience as a construction liaison/consultation agent on NEB developments and am currently immersed in the exciting new Energy East Pipeline. As the months pass I am continually questioning, learning, adapting and refining my knowledge to best suit the needs of our clients and the wishes of our landowners – all the while upholding the standards and reputation of the Surface Land Agent profession.

Pesticide Applicator

I am the holder of a provincially accredited pesticide applicators licence. I am experienced with the application of range and pasture herbicides in a rural setting using large floater sprayers. I am also qualified to apply turf herbicides in more sensitive urban areas with the use of modified ATV’s. I am able to identify risks and mitigate them appropriately. I can also talk to clients and concerned passersby about the inherent risks and appropriate precautions one should take around such chemicals.

Duties included installation and repair of agricultural/equine/acreage fence. This is where I have done the most of my welding/fabricating hours, building implements and specialized machinery for day to day use in the company.
