Bio
In August, 2010, I joined engineering team of Kerio Technologies located in Pilsen, Czech Republic as a Junior QA Engineer. A lucky coincidence caused that Jaromír had been chosen to be my mentor. Frankly, I had no idea how to test software and my Linux and network skills were basic at best. As you can imagine, it required unbelievable level of patience, explanation, repetition, calm, etc. to equip me with QA basics. And that's exactly what he did. Mentoring people, giving advices, and explaining things are just some of his strengths. While behaving like a teammate, not like a boss. The fact that I was able to start with real QA work very quickly is his merit. Since then, we collaborated on daily basis and we were both responsible for quality of the same on-prem product. Therefore, I can say that Jaromír is a high-skilled QA professional. He tests features and verifies bugs thoroughly. His deep knowledge of Linux allows him to both debug issues on backend and provide developers with detailed bug descriptions. He does the same quality job when verifying UI, and - especially on mobile - his reports about differences from platform specific behavior are useful for keeping UI well understandable to users. As the time went by, it was decided to transform our on-prem product into pure cloud solution and spin it off to separate company. Jaromír adopted the mindset necessary for testing of a cloud product really fast and became the company’s most experienced QA engineer. While I’ve been responsible for QA team leading, he’s been collaborating with another QA engineer on most of the verification tasks as well as weekly deployments of new version of the product to the test environment. Anytime I was on PTO, Jaromír was in charge of QA instead of me and it was always perfect. Moreover, he is a great person. And I am really glad we could work together for more than six years. Thanks for all of it, Míro!
