Bio
Lauren Walter
A truly well-rounded individual, Jarod embodies so many valuable attributes -- empathy, intelligence, and collaboration, just to name a few. He's been a mentor to me for years now, enough so that I followed him when I changed companies so I could continue to learn from him. As a manager, he's capable of helping individuals grow both their technical and their soft skills. He's always an advocate and an ally for the people in his community, even if they don't report to him. In a remote environment, it's very difficult to foster communication and community, yet Jarod manages to do both. Thank you, Jarod, for all of your contributions to our QE community, for nurturing our careers and helping us automate all the things. Not least, thank you for your outsized impact on our Giving Committee's charity work. I look forward to working with you again some day!
Nathan Doyle
Jarod is a great guy to work with and for. He is a creative thinker with deep technical knowledge and the ability to pick up new systems in a flash. He is an invaluable resource and a willing participant in debugging calls when servers inevitably fall over. As a manager, he is kind and communicative. I appreciate his wit and his generosity. He worked to bring his philanthropy into the company community to the benefit of everyone.

Worked cross team to define requirements and implement, removing significant manual effort from CS. Implemented in python leveraging AWS Lambda, interfacing with RDS and Twilio API. Made significant additions to Terraform repository, iterating, testing, and deploying to prod. Managed daily production releases via kustomize and k8s. Trialed and made recommendation for new incident management system. Implemented new incident management system via Squadcast. Created engineering teams, services and accounts in Squadcast.
