  As the manager I set the annual budget for my location and reported to ownership each month on sales. I was responsible for hiring and terminating employees and making sure that my employees had the tools needed to perform their jobs. I managed 15 employees and was responsible for making sure customers received their orders in a timely manner. In my three years as the manager, we installed a barcoding system for accuracy and increased on time delivery to 90%. We were also working to reduce obsolete inventory and lower overall inventory to reasonable levels without jeopardizing the customer. I had a hands on approach to management and was sure to spend time with the guys on the shop floor and in my sales department. I felt this was the best way to keep up with employee satisfaction.
