I’ve worked with Jari on several demanding projects. Jari's experience really shows when planning complex features: he can always see in advance what are the consequences of different design decisions and can evaluate these with the team clearly and understandably. Because of his excellent working stamina and communication skills, he is also an asset in mentoring new talent in technical and teamwork skills.

I’ve worked with Jari on several projects. Jari is true talent not only in the technical field but also as a team player. He is very pragmatic and can build systems that scale and are easy to maintain. He is active in staying on top of technical advancements and knows when and when not to utilise new technologies. As a team member he is excellent at helping the team work together and coaching others to reach their potential. I would be Jari’s wing man any time.

We've been building Kollega, a consultation platform for medical professionals since 2018. Our focus has been on building a product that scales to many different markets, each with their local identity and regulation. After our initial launch in Finland in 2019, we have expanded to the Swedish market in 2020. My role has been helping our team make great technical decisions, and implement them in a reliable fashion. With a small development team, we’re running a fleet of microservices and mixture of web and mobile apps for each market. We can still deliver changes quickly thanks to a healthy dose of automation (CI, tests, monitoring) and the fact that we’ve built observability in to our systems right from the start (we use Honeycomb.io both for our server and client apps.) I’ve also tried to make sure that we don’t lose sleep over work by defining sensible SLOs with the team, and implementing an on-call rotation with PagerDuty. We use: - node.js and TypeScript on the backend - Postgres, Redis and Kafka for data - React and Next.js for web apps, and React Native for our iOS and Android apps - Type-safe RPC APIs between all the clients and servers - Rust for some internal tooling, such as our build and deployment status radiator - Heroku and Vercel for deployment - Terraform for managing our infrastructure - Honeycomb and Bugsnag for monitoring, and OpsGenie for delivering alerts - Fastlane for automating iOS and Android builds - And CircleCI for running all those builds Show less
