      Intimately involved with the successful resumption of operations at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) following fire and radiological incidents which occurred in February 2014. Worked at times as the acting manager of the WIPP Fire Protection Engineering group in charge of 20+ personnel. Developed multiple Technical Operability Evaluations, performed extensive Life Safety Code evaluations of all site buildings, and determined maximum permitted occupancy levels of the WIPP mine to ensure that all occupants can successfully egress per MSHA and DOE requirements. Acted as the WIPP Fire Protection Engineering Manager during the DOE required Contractor Operational Readiness Review which resulted in 0 findings, 0 deficiencies, and 1 noteworthy practice related to the Fire Protection Program.Acted as the WIPP Fire Protection Engineering Manager during the recovery following the DOE Operational Readiness Review (ORR) which resulted in 3 findings against Fire Protection Engineering. Led the WIPP Fire Protection Engineering group to perform a complete review of the WIPP Combustible Control Program and its implementing procedures, a complete rewrite of the WIPP Combustible Control Program documents, and approval of these documents in the span of 3 days to successfully close out the DOE ORR findings.Leading a project to solve the disconnect between the installed fire protection systems at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and the NFPA required inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements that are applicable to these installed systems. The turn key solution developed includes everything from identifying individual system components (and utilizing a standardized component naming convention), to linking individual components to individual NFPA requirements, to creating work instructions which focus on conduct of operations, work efficiency, and NFPA compliance.
