I had the pleasure of working with Jared during my time as a Director of Engineering at Workfront. It isn't unusual to have an adversarial relationship between Engineering and Operations but I was always pleasantly surprised by how willing Jared was to partner on problems that impacted both of our teams to produce a better result for all involved. One example to Jared's commitment to quality was our project to move a product from Java 7 to Java 8. After putting in lots of effort on the engineering team to make our code compatible with Java 8, we ran into some performance problems during testing and Jared and I partnered to ultimately decide it would negatively impact our customers if we were to deploy the change. Despite not being able to roll out what we had spent lots of time building, it was the right decision not to negatively impact our customers. Jared was also very knowledgeable about the technical details of our system and you could bet that if you had a question about the system we were working with, Jared would have information that could help in solving the problem we were working on. I would welcome an opportunity to work with Jared again.
