Clinical Educator/Certified Flight Paramedic
-
Jun 2014 - Nov 2016
The Clinical Educator/Flight Paramedic position encompasses a great deal of responsibility, diversity and demand. This position is responsible for the delivery of education to the flight staff that meets our internal training and education requirements, but ensures compliance with accrediting bodies, State and National continuing education standards. Working with the Chief Flight Nurse, we developed an education plan that ensured we maintained the competencies needed to function in the Critical Care Air Medical environment that align with National Guidelines for best practice. The Chief Flight Nurse and I evaluated the clinical staffs performance, ability and knowledge through both didactic testing and scenario-based simulations. My role incorporated a significant amount of business development and outreach projects to further advance the flight programs customer service base, provide training/education to outlying agencies and facilities, and to promote a community oriented service. I participated in the hiring process of clinical staff. During the transition to the Tillamook, OR base; I managed and oversaw all operations and logistics at the Medford, OR fixed wing operation. I continued to function as a Flight Paramedic and preceptor to newly employed clinical staff after the transition
