  As a tenured and PA state-certified teacher, I teach a variety of high school level courses that fall under the English Department umbrella; these include British and American Literature, AP English Language and Composition, Creative Writing, and Journalism. Within the Creative Writing and Journalism courses, I have served as editor-in-chief for student produced publications, such as an annual literary magazine featuring student short stories and poetry, and a semi-regular student newspaper. As a classroom teacher, I am responsible for managing approximately 25-students (give or take) per period for five periods of the day. I am responsible for all instruction, planning, grading, and behavior management for those students. Beyond the more obvious duties as a classroom teacher, I also deal with the social and emotional well-being of my students, many of which have needs that go far beyond simply teaching them to read and write.
