  We study chromosome behavior in the context of dividing cell in mitosis and meiosis. Our findings have revealed fundamental processes that, when they fail in humans, might be responsible for infertility and birth defects. Additionally, we are exploring key proteins involved in cell division to better understand how they might be targeted to prevent cancer initiation and tumor cell growth.
