My role includes: •Spearhead environmental awareness and Education on conservation to visiting student, researchers, citizen scientists, and nature enthusiastic onsite on the conservation Centre •In charge of fish pond culturing and develop pond management plan for the organization demonstration ponds with clear production targets for each pond •Work closely with researchers/ students to refine small scale mariculture in terms of research to increase production •Ensure efficient and effective routine pond management; including pond construction, renovation, stocking, monitoring, and fish stock assessment for maximum production. •Provide technical support in organic farming such as beekeeping, agroecology farming of Moringa and value chain addition of nature-based products such as neem tree products and moringa •Ensure Mangrove nurseries are established every season and out planted for purpose of ecosystem restoration of degraded Mangrove ecosystems •Participate in relevant stakeholder meetings and create linkages as Kwetu-Representative for marine and environment initiatives •Provide mentorship training (capacity building) both an on-field extension, onsite, and on station to CBOs on pond management, small-scale Mariculture related activities, and general wise natural resource use. •Support the organization business enterprise through training, production, and Eco-tourism activities at the conservation Centre •Assist in the development of concepts/ proposal for fundraising and resource mobilization for the organization in support of its initiatives Show less
