    • Station Hand & Assistant Manager
      • Dec 2019 - Aug 2020

During these eight interesting months, I worked mainly in the caravan park doing a variety of tasks: reception (check-in & general costumer enquiries), cooking, gardening and cleaning. As a licensed assistant manager I supported the manager in all tasks necessary. Living on an Australian station gave me the opportunity to improve my English vocabulary and learn new skills out of my comfort zone. Temporarily replacing the facility officer for three interesting months. As a facility officer I supported the more than 600 employees of DELA. I managed the entire fleet of the company. I was in contact with the manufacturers of hearses, ordered lease cars for employees and handled all problems and questions regarding the fleet. Furthermore I was in charge of mobile phone contracts of all employees and offered support for other facilities employees needed. This job was a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and learn different new skills. Therefore my hands-on mentality proven to be very useful. DELA had a bilingual customer base, which has helped me to grow more confident in using French in a professional environment. Show less

The busiest and most cosy place in town! As a kitchen hand and waitress I jumped in where needed. I learned to cope with stressful situations and developed excellent customer services skills. Temporarily reinforcing the administrative team for 3 months. I helped sustain the heavy workload during these busy months and offered support for the quality inspectors in the field. As the work itself was sometimes monotonous (transferring information from one system to another), it gave me insight in the workings of a big corporation and a chance to save up for my next trip. • Waitress & Kitchen Aid
      • Jun 2017 - Sep 2018

A busy restaurant located close to one of the main touristic attractions in Antwerp made this summer job a hard working and high paced but rewarding experience. I learned to keep an overview of all customers and orders. Occasionally I helped the cook out in the kitchen. During my studies I worked for this small company each summer for three years. Blue Mobility offers a bike sharing service all over Belgium. I was responsible for finalising new users' membership. As this was a small company I had to work indepedently and make sure new users could start using our service as soon as possible. As this was my first work experience, I learned to be independent and responsible. I got to experience what it is to work in a team and offer a service to thousands of customers. Show less

    • Editorial Intern
      • Feb 2018 - Mar 2018

During my master in Political Communications I did an internship for VRT, more specific at Villa Politica. My internship consisted of editorial work for a weekly informative programme about the Federal and Flemish parliament. I got to use my theoretical knowledge in the field. I learned to be assertive and stand up for myself in a highly competitive environment. I gained insight in how journalism and politics work behind the scenes.
